POSITION TITLE:                     Senior Electrical Engineer


This opening is a great opportunity for a candidate that has the capability and desire to be a lead electrical/embedded systems engineer.  In this role, the lead engineer will work with hardware and firmware, review junior engineer's work, interact with our global development center in India and our sister company in Germany, and lead cross functional projects.   

  1. Create and revise designs and models in accordance with Anderson Instrument Company Design Standards and solid engineering judgment with appropriate software tools

  2. Develop, execute and summarize test plans for Root Cause Analysis, Verification and Validation of electrical/controls components and systems

  3. Structure project teams to ensure maximum performance.  Provides purpose, direction and motivation to team. Clarify and communicate program objectives and success criteria while identifying and mitigating risks and managing issues to closure

  4. Manage the development and tracking of integrated project plans. Utilizes New Product Delivery and Project Management processes to meet program objectives and maintain program tracking and communications.

Minimal travel may be required. 


Required Education & Experience

  • BS in Electrical, Software, or Controls Engineering or related technical field.

  • Three or more years in product development with at least one year of project management

  • Software/firmware development, integration and troubleshooting (Assembly Language, C/C++, Visual Basic/C++) experience

  • Firmware/hardware requirement and specifications development (design documentation package) experience

  • Design and integration of embedded systems and Architectures (micro controllers (Intel, TI, FreeScale), Single Board Computer/Win CE, RTOS) experience

  • Experience leading software and hardware design reviews

  • Ability to utilize commonly accepted project management tools to assist in the development of, and adherence to a project schedule.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to think strategically and analytically, generate results, lead in a team environment, solve problems, and communicate effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks/projects simultaneously

Desired Qualifications

  • MS, MA, or MBA in business, marketing, engineering, or technology management preferred

Other:

Experience in a structured or regulated New Product Delivery environment is highly desirable

Project Engineer - Manufacturing

Location: Coxsackie, NY

Position Description:

The Project Engineer in the Integrated Product Team (IPT) is responsible for the technical support associated with customer products, including quoting / planning new business, value engineering, production start-up / maintenance and continuous improvement programs.  This position reports to the Manager of the IPT and function as the interface between our customers and our internal operations to ensure that all customer requirements are met.  The IPT Project Engineer must be able to translate Model Based Definition (MBD) data into internal documents such as engineering models, quality plans and tooling designs.

 

Critical to this position is a person who experienced in managing complex projects and is able to achieve success in a matrix organization.  This person must be a self-starter, capable of juggling several tasks simultaneously, and can balance being hands-on with leveraging other (internal and external) resources.  Additionally, this position requires someone who is proficient in CATIA (or a similar engineering software and is willing to attend training).  This position will require excellent communication skills, as this position will present to both customers and internal operations, including the executive management team.

 

A benefit for this position is the understanding of fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft and/or the aerospace industry, including certifications and regulations. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

1)     Function as the lead interface between customers and internal operations, ensuring that all customer requirements are translated, defined and incorporated into our business and manufacturing systems

2)     Prepare quotations from inquires, support Value Analysis (VA) Engineering, including improvements to manufacturability as well as continuous improvement efforts

3)     Program Manage the activities associated with new product launches

4)     Support tooling requirements, including forming, functional gauging and assembly fixtures

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

1)     Bachelors degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, aerospace or industrial

2)     3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a metal products industry

3)     Fluent in CATIA or similar engineering software tools

4)     Working knowledge of using project management tools such as MS Project

5)     Strong communication skills, able to document and present project status to customers and management

6)     Knowledge of Lean Sigma and Value Analysis (VA) Engineering, including design for manufacturability
